what is uncommons?

Uncommons are the photographic works, titled Everyday Art, that find their way into my daily life through a visual characteristic that either emotionally or aesthetically arrests my vision from the use of color, gesture, light, or texture — or more loosely translated — an inherent trait in a particular image that elevates or rekindles an emotion that was held when originally framing the photograph.

Uncommons is a photographic book in the making. It has neither a start nor a finish. Every new photograph holds a personal story. Some of those stories are made known. Other stories I keep inside. If you arrive at a photograph without text, it is I leaving that photograph open for your interpretation. You may love it or hate it or neither one of the two, but hopefully your own interpretation will spark a distant memory or emotion in your heart and mind.

Uncommons is also a blog site for original and deeply inspiring work from other photographers. I never will seek to capitalize on anyone’s work. The content I post here is solely for advancing the work for that photographer and calling attention to its uniqueness. The work created is unique and fills our need to emotionally and mentally respond to visual imagery. Let’s love the photographic life together.

Thank you for visiting, and enjoy. If you’re interested in giving an Everyday Art print a good and loving home, please email me at erik[at]eriklunsford.com for pricing and availability.
