jupiter junket

Just when I emptied the last remaining grains of sand from my camera bag, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch is sending me back to Jupiter, Florida, for three weeks to cover the St. Louis Cardinals during their spring training workouts and pre-season opener at Roger Dean Stadium. If you’re inclined to follow, I’ll be posting daily video to STLtoday.com and twittering frequently. There will also be some new tools to use, including the Nokia N95 for live streaming to the web and a Canon G10 for smaller pieces. Primarily I’ll be using my Canon XH-A1 for video production. Although the schedule will be erratic, I look forward to seeing some of my old friends. Just drop me a line at erik[at]eriklunsford.com and we’ll get together.  Till then…

    Nice snap, Erik.

Just wondering, does that Nokia stream video directly through the cell network, or do you need to Bluetooth it through a nearby laptop?

    Hey Sid, thanks for writing.

The Nokia is powered by the streaming service Qik (pronounced quick) through onboard software. You open the Qik program on the N95, wait for a 3G connection signal, and hit stream. The video will automatically begin streaming live to http://www.qik.com/stltoday
